About Lia Portrait Design
Lia Portrait Design is a high-quality portrait studio located in Dana Point, California specializing in custom portraits of the relationships that you most value in life. All of Lia’s creative portrait sessions are custom designed and personally commissioned. Each portrait is designed with the feeling of fun and comfort, natural settings, believability, and the honest, authentic “Captured Moments” concept. As an artist with total passion for her craft, Lia creates “one of a kind” images that speak to the heart. These “works of art” are sure to be valuable wall decor and family heirlooms for generations to come.
Bios
Lia Segerblom
Master Photographer and owner, Lia settled in Orange County California after spending one year in New York City working for ABC Television and managing a High Fashion Photography studio. She worked in Hollywood for numerous commercial studios in 1981. In 1982 she moved to Orange County, where she has since owned and operated a Portrait and Wedding studio in Dana Point. Her studio averages 20+ weddings and 300+ portrait sessions per year. Her personal photographic expertise runs the entire gamut of commercial, underwater, public relations, advertising, equestrian (1976 & 1984 Olympics), portrait, fine art, special event and wedding photography. Lia is an active member of both Professional Photographers of Orange County (PPOC) and Southern California Women Photographers (SCWP). She is also a dedicated mother to her son, Kyle. They are active together enjoying ocean kayaking, SCUBA diving, snorkeling, sailing, traveling, snow skiing, beach excursions, and simply enjoy spending quality time together.

Kathrin Delano
Kathrin has been with Lia Portrait Design since 2004 and is Lia’s Studio Manager and Digital Artist. She studied at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo California, specializing in both traditional and digital photography and photoshop. Kathrin also gained experience in Portrait Photography at a studio in San Juan Capistrano, California. She continues her education by attending special workshops and seminars.
Danae Wilson
Danae is a Painter and Digital Artist. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from California State University Long Beach and studied at Queensland College of Art in Australia. Passionate about art, both on canvas and in the computer, Danae enjoys her role as a studio and on-location assistant and digital retoucher. If she’s not in her studio, or at her computer, you’re likely to find her outdoors with her dachshund sidekick. Some of her favorite activities include swimming, kayaking, hiking, skiing, rock crawling in her boyfriend’s 1966 Jeep Gladiator, and exploring the hidden wonders of California.
Dani Nichols
Dani Nichols is the Director of Community Relations for Lia Portrait Design and brings first-hand knowledge of web marketing/editing/design as well as extensive journalism and copy-writing experience to the company. Dani is creative, talented and ready for any job – a must-have skill set in our company! When not working at the studio, Dani teaches therapeutic horseback riding lessons and writes freelance. She also loves geeking out about graphic design, kayaking, rock-climbing, hiking, staring at sunsets, learning to surf, drinking coffee and hanging out with her husband.
